PORTICO at LAAF 2024
For the first time, PORTICO will be at LAAF 2024 at Cordoaria Nacional in Lisbon.
Yayoi Kusama at Serralves Foundation
With approximately 160 artworks by Yayoi Kusama ranging from paintings and drawings to sculptures, installations, and archival pieces, this exhibition at the Serralves Foundation which opens on the 27th of March 2024 provides an in-depth exploration of Kusama's evolution.
Exhibition of Leonor Antunes at CAM - September 2024
The new CAM, designed by the architect Kengo Kuma and complemented by the new garden designed by Vladimir Djurovic, will be open to the public from September 2024. For the inauguration of its new building, CAM has invited the Portuguese artist Leonor Antunes to present a new project that will occupy the whole of its main gallery.
Lisbon Architecture Triennale 2024: Fertile Futures
Having officially represented Portugal at the 18th International Architecture Exhibition in Venice in 2023, this year the Fertile Futures project takes up residence at Sinal de Cordes Palace in Lisbon.
Maria Lamas and Her Women at Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation
The Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation hosts the first exhibition of Maria Lamas’s photography in Portugal. A multifaceted figure, Lamas worked as a journalist, writer, educator, researcher, translator and photographer.
MAAT - 2024 programme
On 23rd January, Universidade Católica Portuguesa (UCP) and the Serralves Foundation together inaugurated the Hands over the City — Investigations in the Urban Environment exhibition, which will be on display until 7th April 2024 at the Amélia de Mello Foundation Gallery, located at the university’s main campus in Lisbon.
Bela Silva
Born in 1966, Bela Silva graduated from Faculdade de Belas Artes in Lisbon and Porto, as well as studying ceramics at Ar.Co Lisboa. Since these formative years, she has enjoyed a fine artistic career, both in Portugal and internationally. In 2024, she makes her debut at the Niterói Museum of Contemporary Art in Brazil, presenting her most recent work.
60th Venice Biennale
Conceived by Mónica de Miranda, Sónia Vaz Borges and Vânia Gala, the project oversees the creation of a "Creole Garden" at Palazzo Franchetti, which hosts the Portuguese Official Representation at the Italian Biennale. This conceptual "garden" takes the shape of sculpture, school and installation, which are linked by a transdisciplinary discourse that operates as a living archive.
The Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation at COP28
By attending COP28, the foundation consolidates its commitment to tackling global challenges, as well as emphasising the importance of philanthropy as a key tool to help solve critical issues, such as climate change.

The "Gris, Vide, Cris" exhibition established an interesting dialogue between the work of Portuguese artist Rui Chafes and that of the Swiss artist Alberto Giacometti, one of the 20th century’s most renowned sculptors. Curated by Helena de Freitas and exhibited at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation's main building, critics from the respected Semanário Expresso and Público newspapers considered the exhibition to be the best and second best of 2023 in Portugal, respectively.
